Ottawa announces its own Awards of Excellence
Ottawa Chapter’s GreenTrade Expo 2015 (GTE15) Committee has announced that a new Chapter Awards of Excellence program will be launched at this winter’s trade show on Feb. 10, 2015, the night before the show opens.
The awards program will be modelled after the provincial awards program, giving local members the opportunity to be recognized for their outstanding efforts.
At this year’s launch, a new twist on the awards will be introduced: the People’s Choice Supplier categories. All member suppliers to the Ottawa market are eligible to be nominated by a member and to collect votes through the GTE15 website. Winners will be recognized at a Gala Casino and Exhibitor Networking night.
Supplier categories include hardscape, plant material, landscape accessories, supplier to the trade, and sales rep of the year, which will be awarded to the individual who garners the most votes. These suppliers’ awards will become an annual part of the Ottawa Chapter Awards of Excellence.
“We are always looking for ways to offer more opportunities to both our visitors and exhibitors,” says Bruce Morton, GTE show chair. “We are in the process of looking for a good strategic partner to allow us to grow the show into two days. In the meantime, having a fun networking opportunity for our exhibitors to mingle with members will be a great addition.”
There will also be a best exhibit award introduced at the show this year.
GreenTrade Expo’s website has recently been updated and now has current exhibitor application information online at greentrade.ca.
